The Williston Police Department of North Dakota chose LDV to create their new mobile command center! Built on a Freightliner MT-55 forward control chassis it includes tons of distinguishing features such as an industry-exclusive flat-floor slide-out and LDV's Intel-I-Touch™ vehicle automation system. This sophisticated system provides control over all of Williston's systems such as the slide-out, HVAC, generator and more.
At the front of the mobile command vehicle is a conference area with a fixed conference table, flip-down bench seats, and removable fixed bench seating with removable cushions. A large framed white board has been installed over the fixed bench seating and is flanked by a communications radio. Above the flip-down bench seats is a 50" QLED 4K UHD Smart HDTV, which can display a live feed from the mast camera. The conference table includes cable pass throughs and a folding leaf, making it expand when needed for additional collaboration area. Three spider-base task chairs can be stored using brackets on the underside of the flip-down seating as well.
Pre-wire and installation provisions have been made for customer-installed radios. The galley kitchen includes a microwave, coffee maker, and 2.7 cu.ft. refrigerator for comfort and convenience when deployed. Custom aluminum cabinets have also been added to this area for storage. To create separation, 3 flush pocket doors have been added, which can close off the cab area, front conference area, and the rear work area if needed. Four workstations can be found at the rear of the vehicle and include communications radios, overhead cabinets with dry erase writing surfaces, under cabinet lighting, and spider base task chairs. Two framed white boards have also been added to the curb and street sides of the area.
The exterior of the vehicle has been outfitted with a weatherproof exterior workstation. This includes a flip-down surface, dual USB power ports, HDMI input, HDMI input to matrix, CAT6 jacks, and Intel-I-Touch touchpad. A 15ft. automatic electric awning has also been installed, providing coverage for those utilizing the exterior workstation. On the rear of the vehicle is a heavy-duty non-locking telescoping pneumatic mast with a dome network camera for surveying the vehicle's surroundings. Electric power is provided via a 15-kW liquid-cooled diesel generator in its own custom-fabricated compartment. Keeping things warm in the cold North Dakota winters are two direct discharge diesel-fired furnaces and a wall mount electric heater. Three ducted low-profile air conditioners have also been added to keep things cool in the summer heat. A two-tone body paint and graphics complete the exterior of this well thought-out mobile command center.
