The WEC Energy Group, Inc. of Wisconsin just took delivery of their new mobile command vehicle. Their vehicle is built on a 2021 Ford E-450 commercial cutaway chassis and features a 7.3L gasoline engine with an electronic six speed automatic transmission. The custom dry van body has both curbside and rear entry doors. The rear entry has a custom aluminum flip-down rear step. The exterior also has bright LED scene lights and a complete emergency lighting package. Shade on the curbside of the vehicle is provided by a power retracting awning.
Inside, the vehicle has three workstations complete with 28" 720P LED display monitors and laminate work surfaces. Custom aluminum cabinetry provide ample storage for gear. Overhead cabinets feature dry erase writing surfaces. A magnetic dry erase white board was also included. A custom magnetic closure pocket door was integrated to provide privacy. The rear of the vehicle's interior has a collaboration area with a flip-down bench seat, fixed bench seat and stowable conference table. Dual 32" LED 1080P monitors are installed on the side walls. A digital tuner was included.
Electric power is supplied to the vehicle by an Onan Commercial Quiet 7kW generator. Electical systems are protected by a full vehicle surge suppression system. A low profile rooftop A/C unit with wall thermostat keeps the truck's interior cool in summer. Wall mounted electric heaters are utilized during the colder months.
