This mobile command center was recently completed for the Wayne Police in New Jersey. The vehicle features a Freightliner MT-55 forward control chassis with a 26,000 GVWR and has a CUMMINS B6.7L diesel engine with 260HP. It also has an Allison 2200 EVS automatic transmission with PTO provision. We integrated a single LDV-fabricated flat floor slide out for maximum interior work space. The command center is also equipped with a vehicle leveling system. The customer went with our Extreme Duty body storage compartments for additional space for gear. A rear underbody skid bar has been added to protect the body. Deploying the vehicle on scene has been simplified thanks to our Intel-I-Touch™ vehicle automation system. A cord reel compartment has also been added.
Inside, the command center has a front conference room with fixed and flip down bench seating. A fixed center conference table has also been included. Magnetic surface dry erase white boards are mounted to the side walls. A 43" high resolution display monitor and three 32" display monitors have also been installed. We prewired and installed the customer's radios as well. Custom fabricated aluminum cabinetry has been installed throughout the vehicle for storage.
The center of the vehicle features a galley with microwave and refrigerator for convenience. A large storage closet with adjustable shelves is also part of the center area. A large electronics rack, magnetic soft close pocket doors and a café-style workstation are also included in the center area. The rear work room has three workstations, each with a spider base task chair.
HVAC duties are handled by three low profile rooftop A/C units and a wall mounted electric heater. Two direct discharge diesel furnaces have also been installed. Electric power is supplied by a 20kW liquid-cooled diesel generator. A full vehicle surge suppression system has also been installed.
