The Village of Fox Point in Wisconsin just took delivery of their new mobile equipment vehicle! They chose a Ford F59 stripped chassis featuring a 7.3L V8 engine, 6-speed TorqShift automatic transmission with OD, and spring rear suspension. A chrome front bumper, custom fabricated receiver hitch, and flip-down aluminum step on rear bumper with Diamondback step surface finish off the exterior. Multiple underbody storage compartments have been integrated into the body as well for additional equipment storage.
A fixed bench seat with removable cushions has been installed for additional storage space towards the front of the vehicle. Aluminum box pan shelves have been added for storage as well. Laminate countertops have been used throughout the vehicle for durability. Pre-wire and installation provisions for communications radios have also been made for future installation. Dual USB charging ports, GFCI duplex receptacles, and an auto eject shore power inlet are also included on the vehicle. Hooks have been installed for customer items such as hoses, barriers, and plywood sheathing by the rear entrance door.
HVAC is handled by a low-profile air conditioner and a 5,800-12,000 Btu/hr direct discharge gasoline-fired furnace. A 7kW generator provides electric power to the vehicle when needed. It has been mounted in a custom fabricated all-aluminum compartment. Assisting with parking duties is a color back-up camera system with a 7" LCD monitor and day/night camera.
