Valley Enforcement Group 18' SWAT Truck

LDV worked with the Valley Enforcement Group to engineer and build this SWAT truck. Built on a Ford F59, this 18' all aluminum step van body features a 6.8L V10 engine and 5-speed TorqShift automatic transmission with overdrive and tow/haul mode.

The inside of the unit has custom bench seating that allows for additional storage space while aluminum cabinets above provide additional storage space as well. A weapon storage space has been fabricated to properly house any guns and includes a satin anodized aluminum finish roll-up door. A custom steel hanger rod in the closet holds heavy-duty equipment or tactical gear for personnel.  Aluminum box pan shelves have been fabricated and installed in different configurations to accommodate different size gear.

The exterior of the vehicle is black with non-reflective lettering and a custom computer generated non-reflective vinyl shield that was provided by the agency. In addition, 12VDC emergency lighting was added to the exterior as well. Rear dual entry/exit doors and a fold-down step provide rear access to the vehicle. A 16' awning providing coverage on the passenger side of the vehicle. Providing electric power to the vehicle is a 7-kW 120 volt AC generator in its own custom-fabricated generator housing.
