This 38ft. overall length custom rehabilitation vehicle was built for the Suffolk Fire Department (VA). Built on a Freightliner 242" wheelbase XB-R chassis with a Synergy body, the vehicle features a Cummins ISB-02 275hp turbo diesel engine with an Allison 3000 PTS automatic transmission. A lateral arm, auto-retracting electric awning was installed on the curbside to provide shade.
Inside, the vehicle features a lavatory with pressurized water system, porcelain flush toilet, stainless steel sink and a vanity with custom waste disposal in counter top and trash can underneath. A Culligan sediment filter purifies the water supply while a Norcold refrigerator keeps drinking water cold. There is a 2.5gal electric hot water heater as well. Custom-fabricated aluminum cabinets with LED under cabinet lighting provide ample storage throughout the vehicle. For additional storage space, fixed bench seating with removable cushions has been fabricated.
A 12kW generator housed within a custom-fabricated aluminum generator compartment supplies electric power to the vehicle. The vehicle also has a complete emergency lighting and siren package. To ensure the vehicle is level while at a scene, an automatic leveling system was integrated. A lateral arm, auto-retracting electric awning was installed on the curbside to provide coverage to those who may be working outside.
