The St. Louis DOH of Missouri chose LDV to create their new mobile medical clinic. Built on a Freightliner MT-55 forward control gas chassis, the vehicle features a TQS V8 engine and Allison 2200 HS automatic transmission with park pawl and PTO provision. A Braun Millennium wheelchair lift has been installed to provide access to the rear patient room along with a wheelchair access door. A single automatic entry step can be found on the curb side entry door and a flip-down aluminum step can also be found on the rear bumper for access.
The interior of the vehicle is separated into three different areas: two patient rooms and a center waiting room and intake area. The patient rooms feature a bevy of medical equipment including blood draw chairs, medical refrigerators, and recessed specimen pass-throughs. The center intake area also features fixed bench seating with removable cushions for additional storage space as well. RJ-45 Cat6 computer network jacks have been utilized throughout the vehicle.
A color back-up camera system assists with parking while a heavy-duty fully automatic one-touch leveling system keeps the vehicle level while at a stop. HVAC is handled by three low-profile rooftop air conditioners and tow Broan wall mount 5,120 BTU/hr electric heaters. Providing electric power to the vehicle when needed is a 15-kW liquid-cooled gasoline generator. Underbody storage compartments provide additional space for storage when needed.
