This mobile crime lab was just completed for the Springfield Police Department of Massachusetts. Built on a Ford Transit Van 350 rear wheel drive high roof body, the vehicle features a 3.5L EcoBoost V6 engine with 10-speed automatic transmission. The exterior has two Fire Research tripod light poles with 50-foot cords for night operations. Entry into the vehicle is by dual rear entry doors. Inside, the mobile crime lab has a single workstation with spider base task chair. Dual wall-mounted 32″ display monitors have also been installed. A large storage closest with adjustable shelving is included. Electric power is supplied to the vehicle by an Onan Commercial Quiet 7kW generator. All of the vehicle electronics are protected by a full vehicle surge suppression system. Bright LED scene lights have also been installed to the exterior.
