The Sonoma County Sheriff chose LDV to build the new mobile command center for their department. It is built on a Freightliner MT-55 forward control chassis and features a Cummins B6.7 engine and Allison 2200 EVS automatic transmission with park pawl with PTO provision. LDV added two of our industry-exclusive flat-floor slide-out room extensions to maximize the interior space for those working inside the vehicle. These flat-floor slide-outs as well as other vehicle systems such as lights, HVAC, and more can be controlled through LDV's Intel-I-Touch™ vehicle automation system.
Blackout curtains can be used for privacy in all of the cab area windows. Inside is a front conference area with one flat-floor slide-out housing two workstations. In the center is a galley kitchen area along with space for the electronics rack. At the rear is a fixed conference table sitting in front of a fixed bench seat with removable cushions for additional storage space. Two flush pocket doors installed on heavy-duty aluminum tracks help create privacy when needed between the different areas of the vehicle. Laminate countertops have been used throughout the vehicle for durability. Framed magnetic dry erase boards have also been added throughout the mobile command center for convenience. Installations of a host of customer-supplied communications equipment including cellular modem and antennas, monitors, PCs, Gamber-Johnson docking station, radio repeater, and communications radios has also been completed in the vehicle.
The exterior features a weatherproof charging station that can be used by staff or those they are helping in an emergency. A color back-up camera system assists with parking duties. HVAC is handled by three ducted Coleman low-profile air conditioners and two Broan wall mount 5,120 Btu/hr electric heaters. Providing electric power to the vehicle is a 15-kW liquid-cooled diesel generator with air bag mounts inside a custom-fabricated compartment. Extreme duty underbody storage compartments provide additional storage while keeping your gear safe from the elements. A retractable lateral arm awning provides coverage for those entering and exiting the vehicle. Emergency lights and siren finish off the exterior of this mobile command center.
