A Freightliner MT55 chassis with 30' of load space serves as the platform for San Francisco’s mobile command center. This vehicle features a 300HP engine and Allison 2500 EVS automatic transmission with PTO provision. Blackout curtains have been added for all cab area windows for privacy when needed. Two FRP covered pocket doors have also been installed to create separation between the conference area and rear workstations.
One flat floor slide-out room works to enlarge the already generous conference room in the front of the vehicle. This front conference room includes seating for up to twelve people. A single workstations with Fixed bench seating with removable cushions adds to the storage space found in the vehicle. Fixed tables are located in front of one set of fixed bench seating while a stowable conference table can be added in front of the other set. A galley is located in the center with a microwave, coffee maker, 3.6cu. ft. refrigerator, and sink with pressurized water system. The lavatory features a pressurized water system as well. Three spacious workstations are found in the rear and include task chairs, custom cabinets, white boards, and multiple screens.
The exterior features a 16ft. electric awning to cover the weatherproof exterior workstation with LCD monitor and those utilizing it outside the vehicle. A swing out and down ladder has been installed on the back to provide access to the roof. To ensure the vehicle sits level at a scene, a fully automatic one touch vehicle leveling system has been included. A light tower illuminates the scene during night operations along with two 750 watt telescoping tripod light poles. Providing electric power to the vehicle is a 25-kW liquid-cooled diesel generator in a custom-fabricated compartment.
