Salinas Valley Memorial of California just took delivery of their first mobile medical vehicle. Their custom medical vehicle is a 39ft overall length, all aluminum body construction vehicle on a Freightliner MT-55 forward control chassis with a 26,000lb GVWR. The vehicle is powered by a 300hp Cummins B6.7L diesel engine and is backed by an Allison 2500 EVS 5-speed automatic transmission. The medical vehicle features rear air suspension. A Zone Defense color backup camera system was integrated to help with parking the vehicle.
On the exterior, the medical vehicle features two enormous lateral arm power retractable awnings for shade from the California sun and a weatherproof housing with a 49" QLED 4K Smart TV monitor and soundbar for entertainment for patients waiting to enter the vehicle. Body storage compartments were integrated into the body as well. Electric power is supplied courtesy of an Onan Commercial Quiet 12kW generator within an LDV-fabricated generator housing. All electrical systems are protected by a full-vehicle surge suppression system. Bright LED scene lighting on the exterior was also selected for after hours operations.
Inside, the vehicle features separate rooms or areas. The front includes a patient room complete with Brewer exam table, aluminum storage cabinetry, bright and durable laminate counter tops, a host of customer-supplied medical equipment and LED lighting. A task stool for staff is included and secured during transport with wall-mounting. A stainless steel sink is installed in the counter top. This front area is able to be secluded from the driver's area by custom magnetic closure pocket door.
Next is a patient check-in and waiting area. This area features fixed bench seating with removable cushion for underseat storage. A 32" LED Smart TV provides entertainment and is wall-mounted above the curbside entry door. A staff workstation complete with spider base task chair with casters and printer was also incorporated into this area. Aluminum cabinets and file drawers are installed as well. A sharps waste container is wall-mounted. A medical-grade refrigerator is included.
The next area going from front to back is a staff area with laminate counter top, lavatory with pressurized water system, toilet and sink and more aluminum cabinetry. The lavatory has a special pass-thru specimen cabinet access door with lock. A second medical-grade refrigerator is included.
The rear of the vehicle features another patient room with Brewer exam table, aluminum cabinetry, staff spider base task stool, host of medical equipment and access to the Broan electric wheelchair lift. A stainless steel sink is installed in the counter top.
HVAC duties are handled by three ducted, low-profile A/C units controlled by wall-mounted thermostat. Twin electric heaters handle heating during cooler months.
