Rutgers University (NJ) Mobile Cancer Screening Vehicle

Rutgers University of New Jersey just took delivery of their new mobile cancer screening vehicle. Built on a 38-foot LDV coach chassis, the vehicle features a CUMMINS ISB 6.7L diesel engine with six-speed automatic transmission. Vehicle features include a pressurized water supply system with both fresh and gray water tanks. The vehicle interior also has a complete lavatory with toilet and corner sink. The interior configuration consists of a front patient room complete with exam table and workstation. The workstation has a spider base task stool. Custom aluminum cabinets are also included. The center of the vehicle has a fixed bench seat and storage closet. There is also a workstation. The next room is where the medical-grade refrigerator is housed along with the lavatory. There is a sink and additional cabinets. The rear of the vehicle features another patient exam room. All overhead cabinets have under cabinet LED lighting. Pocket doors provide privacy. All counter surfaces are laminate. A powerful 20kW liquid-cooled diesel generator supplies plenty of electric power to the vehicle. A full vehicle surge suppression system is also installed to protect the electronics throughout. All interior lighting is LED. CAT6 network wiring and jacks are installed throughout. HVAC duties are handled by three low profile rooftop A/C units with wall thermostat. Four wall mounted electric heaters are also installed. An 18-foot power retracting awning is also installed on the vehicle for shade.
