Rockford PD had LDV build a bomb trailer for their department. This trailer is 26ft. long with a full-perimeter aluminum frame. A fixed up and over aluminum ladder has been added to the exterior for roof access. An automatic leveling system has also been installed to keep the trailer level no matter where it is parked.
The inside features room for two workstations, a power strip with surge protection, dry erase boards and a pull-out printer shelf. Aluminum box pan shelves provide ample equipment storage space inside the vehicle. A heavy-duty hanger rod has also been installed to hang the department’s heavy bomb suits as well.
On the exterior, a telescoping pneumatic mast includes a camera system to keep watch over the scene. An exterior workstation with a monitor also allows for staff to seamlessly transition from working inside to out. A robot ramp has also been installed for easy deployment of the department’s bomb robot. For electric power, a 7kW generator has been installed in an insulated generator compartment. A power awning with aluminum weathershield has also been installed to provide cover for those entering and exiting the trailer.
