The Reading Police recently took delivery of this custom bomb disposal/EOD vehicle. The truck features a Freightliner M2 conventional crew cab chassis with a Cummins B6.7L 300hp diesel engine and an Allison 2500EVS automatic transmission. The all aluminum body has a curbside swing out entry door and an entry door with a 1,000lb. capacity fold-out ramp for a robot. We added LED scene lighting and a complete emergency lighting and siren package as well.

Inside, there is a bomb suit compartment with a power roof ventilator and adjustable shelving for helmets. There are four workstations, each with a spider base task chair for staff. Commercial grade aluminum cabinets are utilized for gear storage. We prewired and installed the customer’s communications radios as well. A magnetic soft close pocket door has also been added to separate the work area from the robot storage area. We added magnetic surface dry erase white boards to the interior as well. A refrigerator has also been added for convenience. A 32″ high resolution display monitor has been added to the front wall.

Additional features include: (2) Low profile rooftop A/C units with wall thermostat and two wall mounted electric heaters. An Onan 12kW generator supplies plenty of electric power to the vehicle. We also installed a full vehicle surge suppression system to protect the installed electronics.
