Rapides Parish Public Library Bookmobile

The Rapides Parish Library is a medium-size public library, serving Rapides Parish located in central Louisiana. The Bookmobile provides individualized library service to a diverse population, including the homebound and nursing home residents. Customers may browse the Bookmobile collection aboard the vehicle or request specific items from the Bookmobile staff. Participation in the Library's annual summer reading program is also available through the Bookmobile. The Rapides Public Library utilized wall space in an efficient way by incorporating the wheelchair lift behind book shelves and using custom adjustable oak shelves throughout. With a front station for processing and a rear workstation, there is plenty of aisle space and room throughout for patrons to peruse the aisles.
