Prevea Health (WI) Mobile Mammography Unit

VEHICLE OVERVIEW

Prevea Health of Wisconsin recently took delivery of this beautiful mobile mammography unit! They chose a Freightliner front engine diesel chassis, which provides staff and patients with plenty of space. The vehicle is powered by a Cummins 6.7L electronic diesel engine and Allison 2350 MH six-speed automatic transmission with park pawl. A custom-fabricated console has been installed overhead above the windshield for electrical components and the control panel.

At the front of the vehicle is a spacious imaging area with custom laminate cabinets, flip-down bench seating, and mammography gantry and acquisition workstation. A custom-fabricated leaded acrylic shield provides an unobstructed view of the gantry from the acquisition workstation. An exterior access door provides staff with easy access to service the mammography equipment as needed. This room also features three doors with the center door leading to the rear of the vehicle. The two side doors lead to the patient changing rooms which include fixed bench seating, mirror, and two hanging hooks. Soft-close pocket doors provide privacy for each of these rooms.

At the rear of the vehicle is a check-in area with a fixed bench seat with hinged cushions, a small workstation, and custom-fabricated laminated cabinetry and closets. The galley kitchen area is also found in this area and includes a microwave and 3.6 cu.ft. refrigerator. Solid surface countertops have been utilized throughout the vehicle for durability. RJ-45 Cat6 computer network jacks have been used throughout the vehicle including the rear workstation and throughout the mammography area. A Cradlepoint cellular router has been installed as well.

A three-position electric awning has been added to the curbside of the vehicle, providing coverage over the rear entry door. Three ducted low-profile air conditioners keep things cool in the warm summer months while two wall mount electric heaters and two direct discharge diesel-fired furnaces heat things up. Supplying electric power to the vehicle when needed is a 25-kW liquid-cooled diesel generator in a custom-fabricated compartment. A Temp Stick WiFi temperature and humidity sensor has also been installed, keeping the equipment in the vehicle safe. A full graphic wrap completes the exterior of this vehicle.
