Pottawattamie County Sheriff just took delivery of their new mobile command/EOD vehicle. The truck is built on a Ford F-550 4WD chassis with a 7.3L Triton V8 engine and automatic transmission. The outside of the vehicle features a folding robot ramp that stows neatly in the interior and is easy to deploy. There is a complete emergency lighting and siren package, bright LED scene lights and a manual step at the curbside entry door. The cab includes a custom fabricated center console that houses the emergency lighting and siren controller and a customer supplied communications radio.
The interior of the truck features a workstation with a spider base task chair, laminate counter top and a 28" high resolution monitor. There is a custom magnetic dry erase white board and custom fabrication aluminum cabinets installed as well. An overhead electronics rack allows for future equipment installation. There is a small galley with 2.7 cubic foot refrigerator, LED overhead lighting and adjustable aluminum box pan shelving with mesh cargo netting to secure gear. We also installed two rows of VersaTie tracking to tie down the Sheriff's robot.
