The Port of Seattle Emergency Response/Mobile Command Vehicle (MCV) will serve the greater Port of Seattle as a regional asset for responses to: waterfront facilities, cargo shipping, cruise industry, commercial fishing industry, three marinas, and Seattle-Tacoma International Airport. Built on a Freightliner MT-55 forward control chassis, it utilizes a 260HP engine and Allison 2200 EVS automatic transmission with park pawl with PTO provision.
The interior features ample storage spaces including aluminum box pan shelves with cargo mesh netting, aluminum box pan shelves with satin anodized aluminum finish roll-up doors, custom-fabricated cabinets, and vented wet suit storage closets with floor drains. Dual FPR covered pocket doors provide separation of the interior and additional privacy. A single workstation has been added with a task chair, monitor, network jacks, and electronics rack overhead. A custom dry erase board sits above fixed bench seating with removable cushions for additional storage on both the cub and street side of the vehicle.
The exterior can accommodate 2 removable quartet magnetic porcelain marker boards that are stored inside when not in use. A 21’ electric awning provides coverage for staff working outside as well as those who are accessing the exterior SCBA bottle storage area with a satin anodized aluminum finish roll-up door. Dual rear entry doors provide an additional access point to the vehicle.
The MICV will enhance Maritime Domain Awareness and IED/WMD prevention, response and recovery capabilities by providing on-scene Incident Command capability. It augments the Port of Seattle's Security and Police Department's ability to respond to, investigate and mitigate anomalous activities throughout the Port.
