Phoenix (AZ) Police Department Mobile Command Center

The Phoenix (AZ) Police Department recently took delivery of this new dual slide-out mobile command vehicle. Built on a Freightliner MT-55 forward control chassis, their custom vehicle features two of LDV's custom fabricated flat-floor slide-outs to increase the available workspace in the front area of the interior. Flashing amber warning lights are activated when the slide-outs are extended. Vehicle deployment is simplified by LDV's industry-exclusive Intel-I-Touch™ vehicle automation touchscreen.

On the exterior of the vehicle, a roof-mounted DirecTV satellite was installed along with a Will-Burt® Night Scan light tower for night operations which is operated by a handheld controller on the outside of the vehicle. LDV's well-known extreme-duty body storage compartments were integrated into the all-aluminum body to provide additional storage. Mega bright LED scene lights illuminate the perimeter of the vehicle as well. A power retracting awning on the curbside provides shade from the sun. A full perimeter camera system was integrated as well.

On the inside, a front conference room with stowable table was included. Workstations are built into the slide-outs on either side with spider base task chairs. A high resolution display monitor was also included. Durable laminate countertops were installed as well. A Bostrom Pro-Ride seat provides additional driver comfort. Blackout window curtains were installed for additional privacy. Heavy duty fabricated magnetic-closure pocket doors separate the interior rooms.

In the center of the vehicle's interior is where the electronics rack and galley are located. A multi-function copier/printer on a custom slide-out tray was also integrated. The galley includes a microwave and refrigerator/freezer along with a stainless steel sink. A pressurized water system is installed along with a lavatory for staff.

In the rear of the vehicle is another meeting area with fixed bench seating. The cushions are removable for additional storage. Aluminum cabinets are installed throughout the vehicle and a gun-clearing trap. Another high resolution display monitor is wall-mounted in this area of the interior.

Electric power is supplied to the vehicle by a 25kW diesel generator.
