Pepco Holdings selected a Freightliner M2 as the platform for their mobile command center. This platform features a 300HP engine and Allison 2500 EVS automatic transmission with pto provision. Crawl through access allows staff to move from the cab to the body of the vehicle while an FRP pocketdoor provides privacy when needed.
LDV’s Intel-I-Touch™ vehicle automation system automates startup and shutdown procedures with the touch of a button, saving time when staff arrives at a scene. Two large flat-floor slide-outs maximize the interior space. A large conference room in the front is also home to two spacious workstations. The rear also features two workstations and a seating area. The center galley also features a large storage closet. A galley kitchen with a 2.7 cu. ft. fridge, coffee maker, and microwave has been integrated into the center of the vehicle. Fixed bench seating with removable cushions provides additional seating and storage.
An automatic awning provides cover from inclement weather over the curbside entry door and exterior workstation. To ensure the vehicle is level on any terrain, an automatic leveling system has been installed as well. A weatherproof exterior workstation includes a monitor, telephone, multiple outlets, and a small multiplex control pad. For parking assistance, a color backup camera system has been integrated to use while parking or backing up.
