This dive rescue vehicle for Palatine Fire Department is built on a Ford F59 chassis with a Triton V-10 gas engine and a 5-speed TorqShift transmission. The dive rescue vehicle is built from an all-aluminum step van body features a sliding passenger entry door (no driver's door) with sliding windows. Fixed bench seating with removable cushions was installed for under-seat storage,
Custom-fabricated aluminum cabinetry with LED under cabinet lighting provides additional lighting and storage. Two magnetic dry erase white boards provide spaces for collaboration when working a scene. Aluminum box pan shelves with mesh netting with thumb lock fasteners provides additional gear storage. The dive rescue vehicle also features a custom aluminum SCUBA bottle rack to hold 6 aluminum or steel 80 cubic ft. bottles.
Two exterior roll-up doors provide a space for a slide-out tray on each side of the vehicle. There is also a complete emergency lighting and siren package as well as super bright LED scene lighting for night operations. The exterior of the dive rescue vehicle also has two custom roll-up door storage compartments for quick and convenient gear access that have been painted body color. A color backup camera system has also been installed to assist with parking duties.
