The Oakland County Sheriff of Michigan chose LDV to create their new HNT/specialty equipment vehicle. Opting for a Ford F59 stripped chassis and featuring a 7.3L 2V DEVCT NA PFI V8 engine and 6-speed TorqShift automatic transmission with OD, the vehicle will offer their team the flexibility needed to deal with any situation they may encounter.
Inside, ample aluminum box pan shelves of varying sizes provide ample storage and adjustability for their equipment needs. Mesh cargo netting ensures that gear is safe during transport. Overhead grab rails can be used by staff when traveling to a scene while two flip-down bench seats provide seating during transport as well. Above the flip-down seating are clamps to secure a soft-side ballistic blanket. A bi-fold aluminum collapsible fold-out ramp can be deployed through the rear swing door which also features a custom-fabricated door holder. On the rear bumper, a 40" wide bolt on flip-down step has been installed for easy access through the rear door. In the rear area, space has been allocated for a customer-installed tool board.
HVAC is handled by one Coleman Mach 8 low-profile air conditioner and a 13,600 BTU direct discharge gasoline-fired furnace. Supplying electric power to the vehicle is a 5.5kW Onan 120 volt AC generator. Assisting with parking duties is a Zone Defense color back-up camera system.
