Norwegian American Hospital just took delivery of this new mobile medical vehicle, their second LDV-built vehicle, for their program. The 39ft. overall length vehicle is built on a Freightliner MT-55 forward control chassis and features all aluminum body construction. Norwegian chose to integrate a single LDV-fabricated flat-floor slide-out to increase the available workspace inside the vehicle. Flashing warning lights on the slide illuminate when the slide is deployed for safety. Heavy duty body storage compartments were also integrated into the body.
Inside, the vehicle features a front patient room complete with customer-supplied dentistry equipment, aluminum cabinetry and bright LED lighting. A pressurized water system with stainless sink was also integrated. Solid surface counter tops are bright and durable. The front area of the vehicle also features a fixed bench with underseat storage as well as a galley with microwave and refrigerator for staff.
In the center of the vehicle is a waiting area with fixed bench seating with underseat storage, a workstation for a staff member to check-in patients, aluminum cabinetry and a 32" LED Smart TV with Blu-Ray player for entertainment. Custom fabricated, magnetic-closure pocket doors were installed to separate front, center and rear areas inside the vehicle.
In the rear of the vehicle is another patient room and the single slide-out to increase the room size. Aluminum cabinetry provides storage including a tall floor-to-ceiling closet. A stowable dentist stool and flip-down seat were also integrated into the interior.
