The New Jersey Motor Vehicle Commission recently took delivery of dual LDV-built mobile command centers. The New Jersey MVC chose a Ford Commercial Cutaway E-450 Super Duty chassis for their new mobile command centers. These vehicles include a 6.8L EFI Triton V10 engine, 6-speed automatic transmission with overdrive, and a rear spring suspension. There is an automatic LED courtesy light by the entry door to illuminate the entry way.
Two workstations can be found in the front of the vehicle. Each workstation includes an office chair, laminate countertops, and a customer-supplied 32" TV monitor. Custom-fabricated aluminum shelves have been installed as well. Overhead cabinets include an LED light underneath. A countertop securement has been provided for the customer-supplied printer. Custom-fabricated bench seating has been added with removable cushions for additional storage. A color backup camera system assists with parking duties. An egress window with a screen has been mounted curbside on the vehicle. Interior and exterior GFCI duplex receptacles, duplex receptacles, and a waterproof shore power inlet are some of the electrical provisions that have been included.
Dual rear doors provide access to the rear storage area which includes bright plated E-track, six aluminum box pan shelves, and embossed aluminum diamond plate on the floor. The rear storage area also houses two Whelen telescoping tripod LED light poles. Two additional storage compartments have been integrated into the body as well. A custom-fabricated all-aluminum generator compartment houses a 7kW generator on a slide-out shelf. Two 6V deep cycle glass batteries are also housed in a vented aluminum compartment. For HVAC needs, two wall-mounted 5,120 Btu/hr electric heaters provide heat while A/C is handled by a low-profile air conditioner.
