LDV worked with the New Jersey State Police to design and manufacture these Emergency Support Vehicles on a Peterbilt 348 conventional cab chassis with 28' dry freight body. These units feature .040" pre-painted white aluminum panels with a .032 aluminum roof over heavy-duty cambered 16-gauge galvanized steel.
The floors have a 1 1/8" laminated American made all oak hardwood floors with a gloss finish clear coat. The interior of the unit features 3 E-track systems at various heights with plywood backing. The rear door is a diamond premium roll-up door. A bi-fold aluminum ramp has also been installed in each vehicle for deployment of heavy-duty equipment. Each vehicle features a Waltco rail-type liftgate with a 2,000 lb. capacity with a dual power up and power down. For equipment storage needs, multiple aluminum box pan shelves were fabricated and installed inside these emergency support vehicles. Slides were also integrated for easy access to the tools stored on these shelves as well.
On the exterior, two removable magnetic porcelain marker boards can be used by staff working outside with one above each rear wheel well. Two electric awnings have been installed on each vehicle with one on the curbside and one on the street side. Pre-wire and installation provisions were made for communications radio. Complete emergency lighting has been incorporated around the exterior of the vehicle, along with sirens.
