Natrona County Library of Wyoming chose a Freightliner MT-55 forward control chassis for their new bookmobile. Their vehicle features a Cummins B6.7L diesel engine with automatic transmission. The vehicle features a full color wrap on the exterior that commands attention. Natrona elected to install a Bluetooth audio system with both interior and exterior speakers (6X9). There is a wireless microphone system as well for use with the exterior speakers. Their vehicle also features an electric-hydraulic wheelchair lift with side swing out door.
Inside, the vehicle features modular aluminum bookshelves with a 15° slantback for safe transport of reading materials between stops. They elected to add single sided aluminum book trucks as well. Custom fabricated aluminum cabinets with dry erase writing surface on the overhead cabinets is a nice addition as well. There is a custom workstation with flip-down work surface with laminate counter tops. We added a book drop as well.
Electric power is supplied to the vehicle by a 10kW diesel generator. All electric systems are protected by a full vehicle surge suppression system. Dual rooftop A/C units with a wall mounted thermostat will keep patrons cool during the summer months and dual electric furnaces will warm the interior.
