Montgomery Fire Department selected a Ford F59 walk in style van with a 22' body as the platform for their dive rescue vehicle. The vehicle is equipped with a 6.8L Triton V10 engine and a 5-speed TorqShift automatic transmission with overdrive.
The interior features ample aluminum box pan shelving that can be adjusted to accommodate different equipment as needed. A closet area includes a heavy-duty stainless steel hanger rod for wet suits while a floor drain ensures proper drainage. For SCUBA dive tank storage, an aluminum storage rack that can hold six tanks has been installed. Fixed bench seating sits below SCUBA tank storage for up to six tanks.
Rear and side entry doors provide multiple access points into the vehicle. HVAC is handled by two low-profile air conditioners. A 7kW 120 volt AC generator has been installed in its own custom-fabricated all-aluminum compartment. Emergency lighting has been integrated around the exterior of the vehicle for high visibility when traveling to a scene.
