We recently completed this mobile outreach and rehabilitation vehicle for the Minnesota Transit Police. The outreach vehicle is built on a Ford F-550 2WD chassis with a 7.3L V8 gas engine with automatic transmission. The unique body features a wheelchair lift and bus-style curbside entry doors. We custom fabricated a center console to house the siren controller and police radio. A complete emergency lighting and siren package has also been added.
Inside, the vehicle features café-style seating with a removable table. There is also a flip down counter top for additional workspace. Additional communications radios have also been installed. The rear of the vehicle has a fixed bench seat with another removable table. There is a large magnetic surface dry erase white board. A multi function printer is also part of the design. A small galley with refrigerator and custom aluminum cabinetry are installed at the rear of the vehicle. An overhead electronics rack houses the installed equipment. A full vehicle surge suppression system protects the electronics. A Brewer medical examination table is also part of the interior design. We also made additional provisions and prewired the interior for more communications radios.
HVAC duties are handled by 2 low profile rooftop A/C units with wall mounted thermostat and a 13,600 BTU direct discharge gas-fired furnace. An Onan Commercial Quiet 7kW gasoline generator is installed to supply the vehicle with plenty of electric power. CAT6 network wiring and jacks are utilized throughout. A wireless router with 5-port switch is also included.
