Michigan State Police Mobile Command Center

VEHICLE OVERVIEW

The Michigan State Police mobile command center is built on a Freightliner M2 106 conventional cab chassis and features an all aluminum body construction. A matching 14ft. trailer is also included. The chassis features a CUMMINS L9 360HP diesel engine with an Allison 3000 EVS automatic transmission. One of our Intel-I-Touch™ vehicle automation touch panels has been installed in the cab area to speed up deploying the vehicle on scene. Three (3) LDV-fabricated flat floor slide-outs have been integrated into the body along with an exterior monitor compartment with 55" high resolution display monitor. The command center has extra duty rear air suspension as well. Entry into the vehicle is by curbside entry door with automatic electric steps. A complete emergency lighting and siren package has also been installed. Extreme Duty body storage compartments have also been integrated into the body for gear storage. A vehicle leveling system has been installed to stabilize the command center on scene during deployments.

Inside this mobile command center is a front conference room with fixed center table and seating for five (5). Spider base task chairs provide the seating for staff. Flip down bench seating is installed in both the streetside and curbside slideouts. The front wall of the conference room has a 55" high resolution display monitor with touchscreen overlay. The streetside slideout has dual 24" display monitors and a 43" monitor wall mounted. Magnetic surface dry erase white boards are also wall mounted. An HDMI matrix switcher with 4K capabilities handles the video signals throughout the vehicle.

The center of the vehicle features dual electronics racks to house all of the installed equipment in the vehicle. The second Intel-I-Touch vehicle automation touch panel has been installed near the curbside entry door. Localized mini touch pads are also included. A corner workstation has also been installed near the entry door. A spacious galley complete with mircowave, refrigerator and a Keurig® coffee maker is are also included. Custom aluminum cabinetry is included throughout the vehicle. Overhead cabinets feature dry erase writing surface.

In the rear of the vehicle is a work room complete with four (4) workstations, each with a spider base task chair. Three of the four workstations feature dual 24" display monitors and a single workstation has three monitors. Two multi-function printers on slide-out trays are also included.

HVAC duties are handled by three ducted low profile rooftop A/C units with wall thermostat. A direct discharge diesel fired furnace provides heat. A powerful 25kW liquid-cooled diesel generator supplies plenty of electric power to the vehicle. All of the installed electronics are protected by a full vehicle surge suppression system. A Will-Burt Night Scan LED light tower has been installed for night operations. A DireTV automatic satellite system has been roof mounted along with two satellite receivers. Five perimeter IP cameras provide situational awareness around the vehicle. The rear of the command center also has a heavy-duty non-locking rear mounted mast with dual dome network IP cameras.

"I was very satisfied with the whole experience and process. I believe that the sales personnel and technicians are very knowledgeable and have years of institutional knowledge that shows in the execution of the unit. My questions were all ways answered immediately and if there was any reach back for additional confirmation it was always followed up with a phone call and email. The open lines of communication provided both of us the full awareness of where we were in the build process and helped eliminate unnecessary delays or unanswered questions. Everyone I encountered during my visits were always smiling and happy while working, which was great to see and experience. This is reflected in the finished product that was noticed by my staff and all others that have visited to see the new addition to our fleet."
