LDV worked with the Miami Police Department to design, engineer and manufacture this SWAT truck on a Freightliner MT55 step van with a 18' long all aluminum body.
The interior of this unit features a workstation space with a swing out LCD monitor with a smart board overlay; custom bench seating that includes storage and space for 16 or more personal with their SWAT gear. The front of the vehicle includes external storage space with roll up compartment doors, interior storage space with adjustable shelves and closer to the middle of the vehicle is an interior gun cabinet with a roll up door that can accommodate different size barrels.
This unit features emergency LED lighting, a heavy-duty non-locking telescoping pneumatic mast with a lookup light, weatherproof mast switch and a camera system. Technology also includes prewiring for customer-supplied radios, telephone and cellular antenna cables, a Garmin GPS unit and a built in DVR & DVD with 4 inputs. The exterior of the vehicle has a 14' awning, custom fabricated aluminum assist handrail, an adjustable height aluminum ladder to allow roof access and Eberhard folding steps.
