Mercy Health (OH) Mobile Mammography Vehicle

Mercy Health in Ohio chose a Freightliner M2 as the platform for their mobile mammography unit. It features a Cummins ISB 6.7 engine, Allison 2200 MH automatic transmission, front taper leaf suspension, rear air suspension and air brakes. A curb and street side entry door provide two entry points to the vehicle if needed. An exterior access box pan door has also been integrated for servicing the interior equipment when needed.

The front curbside entrance leads into a spacious waiting and check-in area with a 40" LED 1080p Smart HDTV mounted above. Custom-fabricated cabinets have been added for storage at the front and includes a space for an all-in-one printer to sit on a slide-out tray. Antimicrobial countertops have been utilized for durability and cleanliness. On the ceiling is a custom backlit "Aspirus" logo, providing additional light and adding a pop of blue to the front area. A galley kitchen with a 2.7 cu.ft. refrigerator and microwave provide comfort and convenience to staff while on the road.

This unit is vast and inviting with two changing rooms with alternate mammography room entrances for privacy. Each room also includes a bench seat, shelf, hanging hooks, and a mirror. Laminate covered pocket doors have been installed on heavy-duty tracks to provide privacy for those utilizing the changing areas. At the rear of the vehicle is the mammography area with gantry, custom-fabricated aluminum cabinets, and antimicrobial countertop. RJ45 CAT6 computer network jacks, GFCI duplex receptacles, 20A-125Vac duplex receptacles have all been integrated throughout the vehicle as well. Pre-wire and installation provisions were also made for a customer-owned wireless router.

Two 18ft. electric awnings have been installed, one on each side of the vehicle. A heavy-duty fully automatic leveling system has been installed to ensure the vehicle sits level no matter where it is parked. Supplying electric power to the vehicle is a 25-kW liquid-cooled diesel generator in a custom-fabricated compartment. Assisting with parking duties is a Zone Defense color backup camera system. The warm decor and comfortable layout, along with the robust commercial platform and build will provide years of service to the Springfield Regional Medical community.
