Matt Couto's new 20ft. tool truck has a great layout! Built on a Freightliner MT-55, the all-aluminum construction is powered by a 6.0L 308HP gas engine and features a 2200 HS Allison automatic transmission with park pawl and hydraulic brakes. Chrome heated mirrors, a chrome bumper, LED scene lights, strobe lights on the hood, and Snap-on decals and lettering all help to finish off the exterior of the vehicle as well. Upon entry, a promo shelf greets customers and a lighted knife display can be found installed overhead.
Inside the vehicle is a ColorCore L-shaped workstation with flip-down access to a printer, lockable cash drawer, small shelf under the desktop, and a central vacuum system. Next to this is a single repair stack with ColorCore face frame, a 22" wide 5 drawer stack and broken tools bin. A carpeted straight hammer display sits above the repair stack. LDV's 5-shelf interior with silver fixed stanchions has been installed at the rear of the store area along with a bank of VersaFlex drawers featuring ColorCore-faced shelves above them. Overstock drawers have also been added for additional storage space as well. Removable E-track slat wall pieces have been added to provide flexibility to reconfigure displays and inventory as needed. ColorCore split shelves have also been installed above the 88" and 76" toolbox areas with smooth plate added to the floor for protection.
The single rear swing door can be used in conjunction with the 2,000lb. all-aluminum lift gate. For HVAC, a 12,000 BTU gas fired furnace keeps things warm in the winter months. To help with parking when needed, a color backup camera has been installed on an offset bracket for visibility around the lift gate. An alarm system and lockable expanding metal security gate provide peace of mind when the vehicle is parked.
