Massachusetts State Police Mobile Command Center

The Massachusetts State Police recently took delivery of this new mobile command center. Built on a Freightliner MT-55 forward control chassis, the vehicle features a CUMMINS B6.7L 300HP diesel engine with Allison 2500EVS automatic transmission. We integrated two LDV-fabricated flat floor slide outs to the aluminum body to provide additional interior workspace. A vehicle leveling system has been installed and entry into the vehicle is by swing out side entry door. Vehicle deployment on scene is simplified thanks to our Intel-I-Touch™ vehicle automation system. The easy to navigate touch panel features a full auto startup of the vehicle. A keyless entry system has also been installed. A three camera rear view system simplifies parking the vehicle. Extreme Duty body storage compartments have also been added for additional gear storage. We also custom fabricated a weatherproof exterior workstation for the command vehicle.

Inside, the interior layout features a front conference room with fixed bench seating and dual center work tables, each with a flip up leaf. The street side interior wall has two 55" high resolution display monitors. The curbside slideout has two 50" display monitors wall mounted. Magnetic closure pocket doors provide privacy. The center of the vehicle features a large electronics rack for the installed equipment, a galley with microwave, refrigerator and Keurig® coffee maker and a lavatory. The galley has a sink along with an electric galley water system.

The rear room features five workstations complete with spider base task chairs. Magnetic dry erase white boards have also been installed. Custom fabricated aluminum cabinets with LED under cabinet lighting are utilized for gear storage. The overhead cabinets have dry erase writing surface on them. We prewired the vehicle for customer supplied communications radios. Counter tops are durable laminate throughout the interior of the command center.

HVAC duties are handled by four low profile rooftop A/C units with wall thermostat. We also installed wall mount electric heaters along with diesel fired furnaces. A powerful 25kW liquid cooled diesel generator has been installed along with a full vehicle surge suppression system to protect the vehicles electronics. Localized 3" Intel-I-Touch touch pads in each room provide control over the lighting and HVAC on the fly.
