Mark Garland’s 20ft. Freightliner MT-55 Tool Truck

Mark Garland’s new tool truck was built on a 20ft. all-aluminum Freightliner MT-55. Powered by a 6.0L 308HP gas engine and 2200HS Allison automatic transmission with park pawl, it also features hydraulic brakes, chrome heated power mirrors, a chrome bumper, and a rear swing door. There is also a 2,000lb. all-aluminum lift gate with an auto open/close feature and a flip extension with integrated cart stop.

Inside is zinc coated e-track inside the tool storage areas. It has also been added throughout the vehicle for easy reconfiguring of displays. A lockable metal security gate has also been added, providing security when the vehicle is not in use. ColorCore is also used throughout the interior, including on the 5-shelf interior, promo shelves, the L-shaped workstation, 22″ single repair stack, and hammer display. Other displays found inside the vehicle include slatwall air tool displays, diagnostic cradles, and a cordless power tool display. The glass front refrigerator adds convenience inside.

Providing electric power to the vehicle when needed is a 7.0KW gas generator in an all-aluminum sound attenuated enclosure. The vehicle also includes 6 6-volt lead-acid batteries, a battery combiner, positive/negative test panel, and more. HVAC is handled by a 53,000 BTU engine driven air conditioner, two 15,000 BTU roof top air conditioner, and a 12,000 BTU gas fired furnace. A color back-up camera also assists with parking duties.
