Mutual Aid Box Alarm Systems tasked LDV with building multiple large mission support vehicles using an International cab and chassis. This truck includes two slide-out room extensions on both sides of the vehicle. Custom side entry stairs have been installed on both sides of the vehicle along with collapsible handrails for safety.
Each slide-out houses two fixed bench seats with removable cushions for storage. There is also storage for a table behind each bench seat. Custom-fabricated aluminum cabinets provide storage while laminate countertops provide durability. A vehicle multiplex system aids in vehicle start-up and shutdown procedures while also controlling different systems such as HVAC. For convenience and comfort, a galley with a microwave and industrial coffee brewer has been added.
To assist with parking duties, a color backup camera system has been installed. For electric power, MABAS chose to reuse their own 12-kW generator but mounted within in a new custom generator housing. Emergency lighting is utilized around the exterior of the vehicle. HVAC is handled by two low-profile air conditioner units and a direct discharge diesel-fired furnace.
