Check out Kevin Ryll's new tool truck! This 22ft. Kenworth T-270 is powered by a PACCAR PX-7 engine. The tool truck also features an Allison 2500 HS transmission, air brakes, and an air suspension. A walk thru area provides access from the cab to the store area. Providing electric power to the tool truck when needed in an 8 KW 120 volt Onan diesel generator in its own all-aluminum compartment. The generator sits on a slide-out tray for easy access and maintenance.
The store area features an L-shaped workstation with a lighted angled display on the side for glasses and knives. Across from this is a double repair stack with oak drawers, a vise tray, and a carpeted hammer rack above. A red mahogany soap display has been installed above the store's entry door. Kevin chose to incorporate a raw air tool ladder into his layout as well. Gray slatwall has been used throughout the tool truck for use with diagnostic cradles, power tool displays, and provide flexibility to reconfigure as needed. LDV's 5-shelf interior features oak faced shelves and silver stanchions. Kevin also chose to incorporate a tall mobile retail center which can be used for extra display space or can be removed to make room for larger inventory such as toolboxes.
Outside, a single rear swing door can be used in conjunction with the 2,000lb. auto open/close all-aluminum liftgate. HVAC is handled by 110 volt 15,000 BTU roof top A/C with Heat Pack and a 12,000 BTU diesel fired furnace. An alarm system has also been added for peace of mind while the vehicle is parked. To assist with parking duties, a color backup camera has also been installed on an offset bracket for visibility beyond the liftgate.
