The Kenosha County Sheriff's office chose LDV to build the new mobile command center for their department. The vehicle is built on a Kenworth T370 conventional cab chassis and features a 330HP engine and Allison 3000 EVS 5-speed transmission. It also includes two of LDV's industry exclusive flat-floor slide-out rooms to increase the space inside the vehicle. A vehicle multiplex system was installed to control these slide-out rooms as well as lighting, HVAC, the heavy-duty non-locking telescoping pneumatic mast on the rear, and more.
Inside the vehicle is a front conference room area with six office chairs for sitting around the fixed conference table with two fold-down leafs. A control panel and monitor has been added in one corner while a workstation with a communications radio has been added to the other. In the center of the vehicle is a galley kitchen complete with a microwave, coffee maker, refrigerator, and hand pump water system. Custom-fabricated cabinets powder coated in black have also been added to the center including a slide-out tray for a customer-supplied printer. A generous electronics rack is also found by these cabinets. The rear of the vehicle has three workstations with task chairs, ample monitors, communications radios, network jacks, and storage for department flashlights. The department's bomb robot is also housed in the rear with a satin anodized roll-up door for storage. A bi-fold aluminum collapsible fold-out ramp can be deployed through another aluminum roll-up door for rapid deployment of their robot.
The exterior features an exterior workstation installed in custom weatherproof box. It includes a monitor, telephone, radio, multiplex touchpad, and network jacks so those outside have access to the vital information they need. Two sets of pull-out aluminum stairs are found in a narrow profile cassette and include an adjustable handrail for safety at the two curbside entry doors. A 20' automatic awning provides coverage over these doors as well as the exterior workstation. To supply electric power to the vehicle when needed, a 25-kW liquid-cooled diesel generator has been installed in a custom generator housing. HVAC is handled by two ducted low-profile air conditioners and two electric heaters.
