John Roselli's 22ft. Freightliner MT-55 is a well laid-out tool truck that is ready to work! This all-aluminum construction features a 6.0L 308HP gas engine, Allison 2200HS automatic transmission with park pawl, and hydraulic brakes. A 40" single swing door provides rear access while the 2,000lb. all-aluminum lift gate provides easy loading and unloading of inventory from the rear.
The layout is both functional and different, giving the tool truck a fresh feel. When entering, a lockable drawer and literature rack can be found by the entryway promo shelf. A single work desk includes a shelf for a printer, a 24" monitor, and flip-down seat. Across from this is a custom 22" wide repair stack featuring a carpeted hammer rack installed horizontally above. Pegboard with lacing has been included on the underside of the hammer rack. Drawers of varying sizes and depths provide storage with the bottom drawer providing a space for "brokens." E-track can be found lining various areas of the vehicle including the walls, the kickspace of shelving, and along the laced pegboard on the rear door. SolidCore facing has been used throughout the vehicle including on the promo shelving drawers, the work station, and the customer double repair rack.
HVAC is handled by two 110V 15,000 BTU roof top air conditioning units and a 12,000 BTU gas fired furnace. A color back-up camera system has been added to assist with parking. When needed, a 5.5KW 120V Onan gas generator supplies electric power to the tool truck. John did a great job of designing a tool truck that incorporates many traditional elements while using them in inventive new ways!
