Joel Cardona’s 22ft. Freightliner M2 Tool Truck

Joel Cardona’s 22ft. tool truck was built on a Freightliner M2 with a set-back entry door. This all-aluminum construction is powered by a 6.7L 240HP Cummins engine and Allison 2500 HS automatic transmission. Air brakes, an air suspension, and single rear swing door are also featured on the vehicle. A 2,000lb. all-aluminum lift gate assists in loading and unloading heavier inventory.

Inside, there is a walk-thru from the cab to the store area. A ColorCore L-shaped workstation includes a 22″ wide drawer stack, small shelf under desktop, trash can, and a LED lighted knife display that faces the aisle. A pull-out writing surface has also been integrated into the desk area for additional writing space. Across from the desk is the double 22″ wide repair stack with ColorCore face-frame, an aluminum top, a broken tools bin, and vise tray. Displays include a ColorCore hammer rack, oak hand cleaner display, pry bar display, and an air tool ladder. A glass front refrigerator has also been installed with the shelving.

HVAC is handled by a 53,000 BTU engine driven air conditioner, a 110 volt 15,000 BTU roof top air conditioner, and a 45,000 BTU hot water heater. Assisting with parking duties is a color back-up camera mounted on an offset bracket.
