Gundersen Health System's new mobile mammography vehicle is built on an LDV Commercial Shell and is powered by a Cummins 6.7L diesel with an Allison 2350 automatic transmission. The mammography vehicle features a 40ft. overall length and has leather interior seating. The passenger seat swivels 180° to be used at a desk inside the vehicle.
Inside, Gundersen elected to incorporate a front waiting area complete with colorful custom made fixed bench seating with underseat storage and front check-in desk with a fixed bench with underseat storage. The color palette was carefully designed and coordinated inside the vehicle to provide an inviting space for mammography patients. The LDV upholstery team constructed all the seating within the vehicle. The cabinets are custom made Wilsonart laminate and offer a lot of stylish storage. The galley is located at the front of the vehicle and includes a microwave and refrigerator. The vehicle features Lonseal Lonzebra floor covering.
A custom exterior door allows access to the mammography equipment when service is needed. A changing room was designed into the layout with a fixed bench seat for convenience. InPro Palladium rigid sheet wall covering was used throughout the interior walls for its exceptional durability in a medical environment. LED lighting was utilized throughout the interior.
We wired and installed the customer-supplied mammography equipment. Three low profile air conditioner units with thermostats handle the cooling and two diesel-fired furnaces and one wall-mount electric heater handle the heating in the winter months. A Wrico Platinum 25kW liquid-cooled diesel generator housed within a custom fabricated generator housing supplies electric power to the unit.
