The Fort Wayne (IN) Police Department chose a 33ft. all aluminum Ford F59 for their new mobile command center. The vehicle is powered by a Triton V10 (gasoline) engine and is backed by a 5-speed TorqShift automatic transmission and boasts a 22,000 GVWR.
The mobile command center features a single LDV-fabrication, flat-floor slide-out to increase the available workspace within the vehicle. Vehicle set-up is handled by one of our Intel-I-Touch™ automation touchscreens. The front of the truck's floorplan has a conference room with two fixed tables, fixed bench seats and a 43" LED Smart TV wall-mounted to the curbside interior wall. Three additional LED TV monitors are also included. There is a centrally-located galley complete with microwave and refrigerator. Laminate counter tops were selected throughout the vehicle's interior for durability and functionality as well as custom fabricated aluminum cabinets throughout. The rear of the mobile command center's floorplan features workstations with radio communications.
On the outside of the vehicle, the customer selected a heavy-duty non-locking telescoping pneumatic mast with light lookup, dome camera, and HD video decoder. A weatherproof exterior workstation was integrated into the body as well as a power retracting awning for shade and cover in inclement weather. CAT6 network wiring and jacks were also included. LDV prewired the vehicle for customer-supplied radios. The vehicle is also self-leveling thanks to a fully automatic one-touch leveling system.
