Florida Highway Patrol (FL) Personnel Carrier Vehicles

Florida Highway Patrol chose dual Ford F550 4x2 gas chassis for their new personnel carrier vehicles. These vehicles are powered by a 6.8L 3-valve SOHC EFI NA V10 engine and a TorqShift 6-speed automatic transmission. A custom-fabricated console has been added to the cab area to house the siren controller, police radio, and other controls. Blackout curtains in the seating and cab areas of the vehicle create privacy when needed along with two 18" FRP covered pocket doors have been installed on heavy-duty aluminum tracks. At the front of the seating area is a 32" LED 1080P HDR Smart HDTV monitor on a full motion wall mount bracket which can display the perimeter of the vehicle when needed via the in-dash DVD/camera system. There are two removable conference tables that can be set up in front of the fixed bench seating and easily stored during transport. The table tops are covered in a laminate for durability. Plenty of storage has been provided including overhead storage with mesh netting for safely transporting equipment, removable cushions for the fixed bench seating, and a closet with adjustable aluminum box pan shelves. The closet also hosts teh 120-240Vac control center with disconnect switch, auto resetting breakers, and more. A bolt on flip-down step with Diamondback open grating for safety has been added to the fully body width aluminum rear bumper. To assist with parking duties, a Zone Defense 4-camera back-up system. Pre-wire and installation provisions have been made for customer-supplied communications radios. A customer-supplied router and antennas were also installed as well.
