The Florida Department of Law Enforcement had LDV create their new mobile lab vehicles for their department. These vehicles are built on a Ford F-550 4x2 SD Super Cab chassis and feature a 6.7L V8 engine and TorqShift 6-speed automatic transmission.
The interior has been covered in diamond plating for durability and easy clean-up when needed. An aluminum storage console has been added to the cab for storage of binders, portable radios, maps, and more. For cool storage needs, a 2.6 cu. ft. AC and DC powered refrigerator has been recessed into the body along with a strap to ensure it will remain closed while the vehicle is in motion. Custom-fabricated cabinets are found throughout the interior as well with medium storage cabinets featuring tilt-out fronts for sliding plexiglass doors.
The exterior features scene lighting for high visibility as well as an emergency lights package. Multiple exterior storage compartments are closed using aluminum anodized roll-up doors to keep equipment safe during transport. These compartments include box pan shelves on slides for easy equipment access and adjustable shelving as well. An aluminum ladder provides roof access when needed. Dual rear entry doors provide another point of access into the vehicle. Duplex receptacles have been added to the exterior of the vehicle as well. To supply electric power to the vehicle, a 6000W diesel generator has been mounted along with a removable lifting bracket for crane attachment.
