Elk Grove Police Department (CA) Mobile Command Center

This 35ft. mobile command center was built for the Elk Grove Police Department in California on a Freightliner MT-55 forward control chassis. The vehicle features a Cummins B6.7L diesel engine with 260HP and an Allison 2200EVS automatic transmission. The customer chose to integrate two of our industry exclusive flat-floor slide-outs into the body for more interior workspace. Set-up of the vehicle on scene is simplified with our Intel-I-Touch™ touchscreen vehicle automation system. The vehicle is also equipped with a leveling system to stabilize the truck once deployed.

The exterior of the vehicle features dual power retractable awnings (one curbside and one street side) with magnetic sun screens that attach to the ends of the awning. We fabricated and installed a weatherproof exterior workstation into the body which houses a 55" LED display monitor and has a flip-down work surface. There is also a local mini Intel-I-Touch panel, CAT6 network wiring and jacks, a GFCI outlet, USB outlet, HDMI outlet and a customer-supplied radio inside the exterior compartment. A complete emergency lighting and siren package was also installed. LED scene lights help illuminate the exterior of the vehicle after hours and a color back-up camera system helps with parking duties. We integrated a single door charging station with 3 duplex receptacles with USB charging ports within the curbside rear slide-out as well.

Inside, there is a front collaboration/meeting room with additional workstations within the slide-out. A 55" LED touchscreen monitor is mounted to the curbside interior wall. Custom fabricated aluminum cabinets provide ample room for gear storage. Overhead cabinets feature dry erase writing surfaces and under cabinet LED lighting. There are blackout window curtains for all cab area windows for night operations. Workstations feature dual monitors with wall mounts and solid surface counter tops. Magnetic closure pocket doors provide privacy when needed. A multi-function printer was integrated on a slide-out printer tray. We built and installed custom fabricated magnetic surface dry erase white boards as well. There is a lockable electronics rack and a galley with microwave and refrigerator in the center of the vehicle. The rear of the vehicle features another meeting area with additional workstations. HVAC duties are handled by three (3) ducted low profile rooftop A/C units with wall thermostat. Electric power is supplied to the vehicle by a 25kW liquid-cooled diesel generator. All electrical systems are protected by a full vehicle surge suppression system.
