Eglin UAS MCC recently took delivery of their new command & control vehicle. They chose a Freightliner MT-55 forward control chassis with one industry-exclusive flat-floor slide-out to increase the interior area of their vehicle. LDV's Intel-I-Touch™ vehicle automation system automates start-up and shutdown procedures as well as the deployment of the slide-out along with their HVAC system, generator, lights, awning, and more.
The interior features six spider-base task chairs, three magnetic dry erase board framed in aluminum, and fixed bench seating with removable cushions for additional storage. For added privacy, a blackout curtain divider has been added between the cab and load space area of the vehicle. A galley kitchen area with a refrigerator, microwave, coffee maker, and plumbed water system has been added to the center of the vehicle. Also found in the center of the vehicle is a lavatory with a cassette toilet for convenience during long deployments, sink and faucet. Custom-fabricated cabinets have been added for storage space as well. At the rear of the vehicle is the area for Eglin to house their unmanned aircraft system. This area includes VersaTie VT-Track-4 and VersaTie VT-Track-3 surface mounted to the wall, and VersaTie heavy-duty double stud tie-down rings to aid in the transport and storage of this equipment. This area also includes four magnetic dry erase boards framed in aluminum. An exterior door has also been integrated into the body, providing access to the interior electronics rack.
On the outside is a weatherproof exterior workstation with a 55" 4K Smart HDTV, flip-down work surface, LED strip light, GFCI outlet, HDMI input jack with connection to the matrix switcher, and an Intel-I-Touch pad. On top of the vehicle is an OSHA compliant observation deck for use while an unmanned aerial system is deployed. A heavy-duty non-locking telescoping pneumatic mast includes a dome network camera with lightfinder technology and a video decoder. A 20kW liquid-cooled diesel generator supplies electric power to the vehicle when needed. HVAC is handled by two 5,120 Btu/hr electric heaters and three low-profile air conditioners. A full emergency lights and siren package has been added for high visibility when traveling to a scene.
