East Rutherford Police (NJ) Mobile Command Center

VEHICLE OVERVIEW

This mobile center started as one of our Stock Series law enforcement vehicles and we modified it to suit the customer's needs. The vehicle is built on a Ford F59 gasoline chassis with a Triton V-10 engine and 5-speed TorqShift automatic transmission. The mobile command center is built with an all aluminum body. A vehicle leveling system was installed to create a stable work environment on-scene. A heavy-duty non-locking telescoping pneumatic mast was integrated to the body complete with a dome network camera with lightfinder technology for after hours missions. The live video footage is able to be displayed to any number of the vehicle's monitors thanks to a video decoder.

Inside, three workstations are equipped with spider base task chairs that are secured with straps during transport and high resolution display monitors. A wall-mounted 43" LED display and a 32" display are included for collaboration. There is a galley with 2.7cu. foot refrigerator. Fixed and flip-down bench seating are also integrated to the interior.

Custom fabricated aluminum cabinets provide storage for gear. The overhead cabinets feature dry erase writing surfaces and under cabinet LED lighting. Dual custom fabricated magnetic dry erase white boards were also installed. Counter top surfaces are laminate for durability. We prewired the interior for the customer-supplied communications radios. A small electronics rack is housed inside one of the cabinets in the center of the vehicle for future technology integration. CAT6 wiring and jacks are routed throughout the vehicle. Dual Dell OptiPlex Micro Computers were installed to run Department software. We installed bright LED scene lighting as well as an emergency lighting and siren package.

Electric power is supplied by a 12kW liquid-cooled gasoline generator. A full vehicle surge suppression system protects the electrical equipment installed. Dual low profile rooftop A/C units with wall-mounted thermostat handle the cooling duties while a 7,500BTU direct discharge furnace an a 5,120BTU electric heater handle the heating during the winter.

"I was very satisfied with the whole experience and process. I believe that the sales personnel and technicians are very knowledgeable and have years of institutional knowledge that shows in the execution of the unit. My questions were all ways answered immediately and if there was any reach back for additional confirmation it was always followed up with a phone call and email. The open lines of communication provided both of us the full awareness of where we were in the build process and helped eliminate unnecessary delays or unanswered questions. Everyone I encountered during my visits were always smiling and happy while working, which was great to see and experience. This is reflected in the finished product that was noticed by my staff and all others that have visited to see the new addition to our fleet."
