VEHICLE OVERVIEW

DC Metro built this vehicle so it could be utilized by emergency operations and other areas as deemed appropriate. They selected a Freightliner M2 with a 56,000lb GVWR for the chassis and a 29' 6" long custom all aluminum dry van body. With 4 flat floor slide-out rooms, there is ample workspace, counter space, and conference space for a large number of responders. The center of the vehicle is home to a galley with microwave, refrigerator, coffeemaker and pressurized water system. All cabinets, countertops and benches are custom fabricated with heavy duty materials to withstand demanding use. Loaded with communication and monitoring equipment including mast and camera systems, this vehicle is well equipped and ready for lots of use.
