David Howell’s New 24ft. Kenworth T280 Tool Truck
David Howell’s new tool truck was built on a 24ft. Kenworth T280 with a setback entry door. This tool truck is powered by a PACCAR PX-7 engine, PACCAR transmission, air brakes, and an air suspension. An exterior custom stainless steel sun visor, single rear swing door, a 2,000lb. all-aluminum lift gate, aluminum weather resistant storage box, Grover air horns, and 6″ chrome exhaust stacks with curve out tips finish off the exterior.
Inside are multiple displays including a carpeted horizontal hammer rack, red socket center, pry bar display, and an air tool ladder. A compressed air test line has also been installed by the L-shaped workstation. That workstation also features a 1.7 cu.ft. dual voltage refrigerator, pullout writing surface, 24″ wide single drawer stack, tool chute for broken tools, under desk shelf, trash can, and an LED lighted knife display. Across from the workstation is a 24″ wide single repair stack with ColorCore face-frame, vise tray, 5 storage drawers, one deep drawer, and stainless steel pull latches.
Providing electrical power when needed is a 7.5KW diesel generator in an all-aluminum sound attenuated enclosure. The generator is also on a slide-out tray for simple maintenance when needed. HVAC is handled by a 53,000 BTU engine driven air conditioner, two 15,000 BTU roof top air conditioners, and a 12,000 BTU diesel fired furnace.
