Check it out! David Castano's new 20ft. tool truck was built on a Freightliner MT-55. The all-aluminum construction features a 6.0L 308 HP gas engine, 2200 Allison HS automatic transmission with park pawl, and hydraulic brakes. On the rear is a 2,000lb. auto open/close all-aluminum lift gate with an integrated cart stop. A color back-up camera has been mounted on an offset bracket for visibility around the liftgate.
HVAC is handled by a 53,000 BTU engine-driven A/C with rooftop mounted condensor and a 12,00 BTU gas fired furnace. Heavy duty non-slip step well covers keep things safe especially in the colder months with winter grime and grit. The exterior is also outfitted with a weather resistant storage box with T-handle latches and sealed box an aluminum door, providing additional exterior storage that keeps inventory safe from the elements.
Inside is an oak L-shaped workstation, oak 22" wide single repair stack with red mahogany stain, and LDV's 5-shelf interior with silver fixed stanchions and VersaFlex system. For additional display space, there is also a carpeted straight hammer rack above the repair stack. Overstock bins can be found under the bank of VersaFlex drawers. Abitibi has been added to the ceiling along with magnets for additional display space. Ample lacing can also be found on the ceiling as well. A small oak knife display with LED light has been installed in the overhead area of the cab.
