Collier County Sheriff had LDV built them this new mobile crime lab. Built on a Ford F-550 4x2 chassis, the vehicle is powered by a 6.7L Power Stroke turbo diesel engine with a TorqShift 10-speed automatic transmission. The custom all aluminum body features a roll up storage compartment as well as an extreme duty body storage compartment. Entry into the vehicle is by curbside swing out door with electric step. A color backup camera system has also been installed to ease parking maneuvers. Dual telescoping LED tripod lights are also included. Bright LED scene lighting is also part of the exterior.
Inside, the crime lab features four workstation with stainless steel counter top. There are four spider base task chairs for staff. There is also a lavatory with electric water system. A dry flush chemical free toilet is also part of the lavatory. Custom aluminum cabinets with dry erase writing surface are installed for gear storage. A 12kW liquid-cooled diesel generator supplies the vehicle with plenty of electric power. A full vehicle surge suppression system protects the vehicle's electronics. A complete emergency lighting and siren package has also been installed. We prewired the vehicle for customer-supplied radios. The exterior also has a horizontal power arm awning for shade.
